Audio Review: the Book of Psalms Read by Michael York
Michael York has a wonderful reading voice for the Psalms
In my imagination, I think that the Psalms read by Michael York are read as if commissioned by King David. I can’t say as if King David himself were reading the Psalms, for that isn’t as accurate as the former, for the reading is clearly one spoken with eloquence fit for any hearer, even King David. High praise, are those remarks, and this collection of The Psalms are worth such praise.
The style of the reading is clear, musical without musical background but punctuated by musical notes between readings. The imagination given by Michael York, and there is that high praise again for this reading of 150 Psalms, comes through for these are rich and moving readings that involve the listener. I have had a set of these tapes for many years, given one set as a gift only to discover that they are to be found only among the used category for sale. Sadly, there will be a time when the set may go out of print. This is my second set of this collection.
As a note of comparison, there is a collection of readings of the King James Version of the Bible’s New Testament read by Gregory Peck. Like Mr. Peck, Mr. York has a distinct voice that shows he is a noteworthy voice of merit and offers an understanding of what he is reading, without getting in the way of the words or the text. To say that he is a man with a trained voice and excellent diction, like Mr. Gregory Peck, is to my way of thinking and listening accurate.
I have a number of “recorded” readings of Biblical material, including Gregory Peck, Sir Laurence Olivier, Alexander Scourby, and the out of print “The Bible” (the Old Testament in King James Version) read by numbers of actors with excellent voices. Michael York’s reading of The Psalms is certainly a central part of my collection of such audio recordings, and his voice is as distinct and memorable as any, if not more so. Hear him say, “Selah,” and you will know there is quality to both the recording and his interpretation.
For a complete, unabridged reading of the King James Version of The Psalms, one can be pleased to own and listen to this understandable and distinguished recording where Michael York reads memorably and so well these wonderful words of The Psalms.

Does The Stop Your Divorce Book By Homer Mcdonald Really Work?
marriage and family counseling degree plus counseling couples who are to be married with topics about support groups seattle divorce
Arguments are perhaps inevitable in a marriage but when they are happening regularly the chances of the marriage surviving are slim. This article explains the difference between clearing the air and arguing and offers practical tips and advice.
If your wish is to save your marriage then you have come to the right place. Get immensely satisfying results with your relationship FAST…
Dr Nancy Kalish is the international expert on rekindled romance. In this article she discusses some of the surprising findings from her 11 years of research.
If you’re at the point where you’re struggling to save your marriage because of mistakes you’ve made then you’re probably frustrated panicking and don’t really know where to turn next for help. Well I’m going to take you through the steps you MUST take if you’re going to successfully save your marriage and convince your spouse you can be trusted.
It says in Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there the Lord Jesus Christ who by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
Problem identification- Problem identification is the first step to successfully solving marital problems. Once problems are identified self help marriage guidelines are easy to find on ‘Save My Marriage Today’ corresponding with the problems you are encountering. Couples should try to be as objective about marital troubles as they possibly can no matter how impossible it feels or appears if the problems are left unattended they will just breed and increase in size and severity.
Unfortunately this plea from the heart that cries out ‘help me save my marriage’ is normally silent and often never heard. Too often our feelings are hidden deep inside and are only allowed to tear at our insides until it is too late. Couples tend to enter a marriage thinking that it is going to be a life long cruise into marital bliss. This is a mistake.
When your husband wants a divorce and you don’t what should you do? Do you stir up feelings of loneliness grief emptiness and a sense of bewilderment and guilt? How do you react in such situations?

Controversies in Adoption Process Highlighted in Self Published Book

Controversies in Adoption Process Highlighted in Self Published Book
The recent efforts of international pop star, Madonna, to adopt another child from the nation of Malawi has yet again placed the issue of celebrity adoption on the spotlight. The singer has drawn criticism from human rights groups, adoption officials and people questioning her morality and capability to take care of more children.
Last year, Madonna adopted Malawian baby boy David Banda Mwale amid much controversy as Malawian law requires would-be parents to reside in country for one year before adopting. A similar contention has arisen in light of the star’s recent efforts to adopt another Malawian child.
Concerns such as the prospective adoptive parents’ moral standing and ability to provide emotional security for children being adopted are but some of the issues raised against Madonna’s attempt to adopt four-year-old Chifundo “Mercy” James.
Malawi’s child welfare chief, Simon Chisale, said, “We do not only look at the material issues, but also the moral standing of prospective adoptive parents, because we do not want our children’s morals to be corrupted,” he said.
Warren Panem, author of the self-published book ‘Chronicle of an Adoption’ is no stranger to controversies and issues that prospective adoptive parents face. Although the stories in his book are not as controversial as the Material Girl’s scenario, they are nevertheless just as time-consuming and testing. The experiences of couples who went through the adoption process are tools that Panem hopes will enabled many to understand that adopting a child may not be as easy as it seems.
Panem details the ins and outs of getting in touch with different agencies, sifting through lies, and endless meetings in the process of putting a family together. People who are thinking about adoption, going through the process, have had a failure or success, or have anything to do with adoption, you will enjoy reading about it in this Xlibris published book.
Chronicles of an Adoption recalls the frustrating times, the moments of hope, the crushed aspirations and the final success in adopting a child.

Finding a Word From God Through a Book
Many people receive a message in a book. Many people enjoy reading books.
www.BusinessOnlineGuide.net specializes in Business and Christian Books from your favorite Authors.
I love reading books especially the word of God to get me through the hour, day and my life.
Life isn’t the sweetest candy. Sometimes, when I feel like the world is just too heavy, I look around and find people who continued to live fascinating and wonderful lives. Suddenly, thoughts come popping into my mind like bubbles from nowhere – “How did their life become so adorably sweet? How come they still can manage to laugh and play around despite a busy stressful life?” Then I pause and observed for awhile… I figured out that maybe, they start to work on a place called ‘self’.
So, how does one become genuinely happy? Step 1 is to love yourself and God.
The Bible says the following:
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
My theology professor once said that “loving means accepting.” To love oneself means to accept that you are not a perfect being, but behind the imperfections must lie a great ounce of courage to be able to discover ways on how to improve your repertoire to recover from our mistakes.
Genuine happiness also pertains to contentment. When you are contented with the job you have, the way you look, with your family, your friends, the place you live in, your car, and all the things you now have – truly, you know the answer to the question “How to be genuinely happy.”
When we discover a small start somewhere from within, that small start will eventually lead to something else, and to something else. But if you keep questioning life lit it has never done you any good, you will never be able to find genuine happiness.
I believe that life is about finding out about right and wrong, trying and failing, wining and losing. These are things that happen as often as you inhale and exhale. Failure, in a person’s life has become as abundant and necessary as air. But this should not hinder us from becoming happy.
How to be genuinely happy in spite all these? I tell you… every time you exert effort to improve the quality of life and your being, whether it is cleaning up your room, helping a friend, taking care of your sick dog, fail on board exams and trying again, life gives you equivalent points for that simple task – job well done.
Imagine life as a big score board like those which are used in the NFL’s. Every time you take a step forward, you make scoring points. Wouldn’t it be nice to look at that board at the end of each game and think to yourself “Whew! I got a point today. I’m glad I gave it a shot.”, instead of looking at it all blank and murmur “Geez, I didn’t even hit a score today. I wish I had the guts to try out. We could have won!” and then walk away.
The Bible says the following:
For I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. Deuteronomy 30:16 (NIV)
Genuine happiness isn’t about driving the hottest Formula 1 car, neither is it getting the employee of the year award, earning the highest 13th month pay, or beating the sales quota. Sometimes, the most sought after prizes in life doesn’t always go to the fastest, the strongest, the bravest or not even the best. So, how do you become genuinely happy? Every one has his own definition of ‘happiness’. Happiness for a writer may mean launching as much best selling books as possible. Happiness for a basketball rookie may mean getting the rookie of the year award. Happiness for a beggar may mean a lot of money. Happiness for a business man may mean success. So, really now, how do we become genuinely happy? Simple. You don’t have to have the best things in this world. It is about doing and making the best out of every single thing. It is also about finding the good in everything. When you find yourself smiling at your own mistake and telling your self “Oh, I’ll do better next time”, you carry with you a flame of strong will power to persevere that may spread out like a brush fire. You possess a willingness to stand up again and try – that will make you a genuinely happy person.
When you learn to accept yourself, love the Lord and accept that you are not perfect by accepting your own faults. You pass step 1 in the project “how to become genuinely happy”. For as long as you know how to accept others, you will also be accepted. For as long as you love and know how to love, you will receive love ten folds back.
Again, throw me that same question “How to become genuinely happy?”. I’ll refer you to a friend of mine who strongly quoted- “Most of us know that laughter is the best medicine to life’s aches and pain. But most of us don’t know that the best kind of laughter is laughter over self. Because then you don’t just become happy… you become free.”
The bible says the following:
When he was gone, Jesus said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified and God is glorified in him. John 13:31 (NIV)

There are quite a lot of reasons why you should outsource book keeping services. The first reason is that you will be able to decrease your work load. Instead of doing it yourself, you can have someone do it for you through outsourcing.
Another great advantage in outsourcing book keeping jobs for your online business is that it is much more cost effective than having your own book keeper in the office. This means that you will be able to save more money for your business or minimize your overhead cost.
Basically, book keeping involves handling every financial aspect of your business. Everything will be recorded here. From business revenues, to profits and losses incurred by your business, as well as other expenses, everything will be recorded. You have to consider that at the time of tax session, you may get over loaded with work as book keeping work can be quite time consuming. You will literally have a lot more work to do and may not have enough time to manage your business.

Outsourcing jobs can help you cut down a huge amount on your expenses. You will see that you will save a lot more money in a year through outsourcing book keeping jobs, rather than have your very own book keeper working for you full time.
Also, by outsourcing, you can be sure that you will never have to do the book keeping work yourself. By doing so, you will be able to attend to more important things in your business, which means that you will maximize efficiency and profit of your business.

How to write book proposal?

How to write book proposal?
You are a first-time writer and you have just finished writing your book, your first book, your dream, your ticket to success, fame, and glory. You feel terrific and on top of the world, don’t you? I know. I have been there, being a writer myself.
But hang on. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that your job is done. It’s only half done, or maybe even less than that. What remains to be done is the critical part of finding a publisher for your book. To do that, you have to write a book proposal, and this article will help you with just that. So here are the steps of writing a book proposal.
Identify the publishers that you want to send your proposals to.
Go to the websites of these publishers and read the guidelines for manuscript submission carefully.
Typically, different publishers have different guidelines.
But most publishers will want a brief synopsis of the book, information about you and your past writing experience, and 2 or 3 sample chapters.
Some publishers accept proposals of books that are complete or close to complete. They do not accept proposals of books that are in the very early or early stages.
Some publishers do not allow simultaneous submissions. Typically, these publishers will be big and good publishers, and if they don’t allow simultaneous submissions, chances are that their turnaround time will be quick too. So it might be worth it to send your manuscript to them and wait till you hear from them. If you get a negative response, you can submit to other publishers.
Some publishers do not accept unsolicited manuscripts and book proposals. Check if this is the case with one of the publishers that you have identified, and if yes, do not send your book proposal to them since there is no point in doing that.Write a good synopsis of your book.
Organize your thoughts.
Write about your book’s subject, theme, plot, and message, and why it will appeal to the readers.
Write a few things about your writing style.
Highlight the main target audience of your book.Write about yourself. This should be fairly straight-forward.
Write about your past writing experiences. This should be fairly straight-forward as well.
Mention all the items that you have attached with your book proposal.
Close the proposal with a cheerful and optimistic “Hope to hear from you soon.”
Restrict the overall proposal to at most two pages only.
Choose the best two or three chapters from your book to send along with the proposal.
If the publisher wants you to send a hard copy to them, take a printout of the letter, sample chapters, and make sure to include a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) in the proposal.
If the publisher accepts the book proposal by email, then just ZIP all the contents in a ZIP file and send it to the appropriate address.
That’s it! You are done! Follow these guidelines and your chances of getting a positive response will increase dramatically.
Of course, it has to be said that, ultimately, the response is likely to be positive if your book (as judged by your sample chapters) is good. Most first-time writers get rejected because the quality of their English is just not up to the mark. Being a publisher I have had to read such bad language that it is unbelievable that the writers actually believed that their proposal would be accepted. Even if the books are published, they have very little chance of selling the first edition. Sometimes, if the language is acceptable, the subject matter or the plot is un-cooked or half-cooked. So make sure that you do your absolute best with your book before you submit it to a publisher. Get help from professional editors if you have the means. Even if you find their charges a bit too high for your taste, good editors are worth their weight in gold. They will point out mistakes that you wouldn’t and couldn’t have imagined.
I have written enough. I will now sign off wishing you all the very best for your book proposal and the book.

Book Author Explores the Growth of Christian Faith Through Suffering
The worldâs economic downtrend continues to distress lives and create global uncertainty. Markets are soft, many lose their jobs, factories close down, and people are losing hope.
In the middle of this economic gloom, self-published book author Troy D. Ehlke enlightens Christians that the picture is not something dreadful but an opportunity to grow deeper in faith.
âThis level of faith development requires a new understanding of suffering, one where this world is seen as a testing ground, not the end⦠While we experience distress in this lifetime, it is not without reward,â Ehlke said.
His book âCrossroads of Agonyâ emphasizes Jesus Christâs call to suffering as demonstrated on Calvary.
âSuffering yields life â life that is everlasting,â the book author stressed.
He reveals that in America, highlighting suffering and personal sacrifice does not win churchgoers who prefer Christ portrayed as kind and always providing believers with prosperity.
âIt makes Christianity one-dimensional and shallow. When hardship becomes an unwelcome visitor in our lives, the gospel of rewards doesnât hold up or provide the slightest degree of comfort.â Ehlke explained.
âTrue discipleship must contend with all sides of the faith, not just the ones that make us smile or feel warm and fuzzy inside.â
Ehlke underscores that contemporary Christians are adrift without studying the foundations of the church as a dependable point of reference. An investigation of the early church through study of scripture, historical events and emerging literature puts more substance to his published book.
The author hopes that readers will use the questions at the end of each chapter for discussion in small groups particularly during this time when everything looks dim and the future, bleak.
Troy Ehlke is associate pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned his masterâs degrees in the fields of theology and divinity at Harvard Divinity School, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (Berkeley, California), and Princeton Theological Seminary.
âCrossroads of Agonyâ is published by Xlibris.

Baby Sleep Habits Book

Baby Sleep Habits Book
I generally like to start my reviews by saying what I liked about the book I read. In my opinion, the best and most important point made by this book is that sleep is vital for babies. Parents should be on the lookout for signs their child might be suffering from lack of it, and should also make sure their lifestyles do not interfere with their child’s healthy sleep. I also appreciated the author’s input about sleep problems and solutions for older children.
Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child / Your Fussy Baby
I disagreed most with the idea that it is generally a good idea to allow children to cry as long as it takes to get them to sleep at night. Will this method do long term psychological damage? The author says no, and I agree that is probably correct. Okay, so the child won’t be delinquent as a teenager, or hate you as an adult. But as a parent, my question is which method is easiest on the child in the short term, as well as being effective in the long term? Frankly, I don’t want my child to be unnecessarily miserable, even if it’s only for a few nights. Further, I simply couldn’t listen to screaming cries for any length of time without intervention.
For the parent interested in sleep “training”, I think Dr. Richard Ferber offers a better method. Even Dr. Weissbluth admits Ferber’s method’s work- he simply thinks they may be too difficult for some parents to apply. Well, I think a little more difficulty may be worth while if the child has an easier time.
Oddly, Dr. Weissbluth claims to have no problems with the “family bed”. However, I find his family bed advice confusing, and most of the tips he offers throughout the book seem to be incompatible with the practice. If anybody is practicing the family bed, they should definitely go with Dr. William Sears, whose advice is much more compatible with that arrangement. Dr. Sears is also a good choice for those who find Dr. Ferber too harsh and want the gentlest methods possible.
I tend to disagree with the view of some “attachment parents” that babies always develop the sleep habits that are best for them. There are babies who simply need parental leadership here, and there are also babies whose habits are disruptive to the family. So if parents think their baby has a problem, they should read several books about the topic, and adapt the different views to their personal situation and temperment of their individual child. I think that will lead to a better solution than reading just one book and treating it as a bible.
